a vague attempt at an update
With 2011 coming close to an end, I would say I had a pretty good year, but it's not finished yet. I still have a lot going on and a lot of new things in my life to be excited about. I have a new relationship, that I'm very excited about. I have several books finished, or near finished, that I look forward to releasing, and I have a chance to write a very interesting movie.
The table of contents is finalized for the currently untitled next book, and I'll be posting it soon. As planned it will be my favorite stories from Cloud 8 and Other Stories and Guy Drinking Coffee # 3. I have cut three stories and the novella, Cloud 8. I will be replacing them with seven stories I like better from Guy Drinking Coffee # 3. The seven new stories have been sent off for edits.
I am excluding Cloud 8 from any collections to release it as a stand alone novella. I will also be reworking the stories I cut and they will go with some new stuff and a few other stories to make up Guy Drinking Coffee # 3, some time in 2012.
While This 2nd book is going through the editing process and layout, I will be deciding on a new title, planning clever marketing ideas and working on the movie script. I stay busy.
The movie I keep mentioning is called TERMS and I'm really excited about this project! I will be announcing more details as soon as I can, but for now I can say that the whole thing came about when I got a Facebook message from Joshua Hull, director of Beverly Lane. He pitched me a very cool idea for a movie, that he thought might make a swell short. He said he thought I'd be the perfect guy to write it and after talking more it has been determined that it will be a feature length film. I can't say much more without giving too much away, but I can say that it will a dark, friendship slasher style film that will combine elements of The Breakfast Club, Girl Interrupted, Flatliners, and Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
Next time: I'll post my top 35 albums of 2011. I love my music and I think it was a great year for music. You'll want to check that out!
