Talk of Transgression

Garrett Calcaterra has a great new article up on his website about transgressive fiction and Fracas: A Collection of Short Friction.

The article clues people in on a genre of fiction we all love, but don't all admit we love. It also goes on to talk about what the authors of Fracas recommend. I really enjoyed reading it and you can check it out here.

I look forward to trading guest blog spots with Garrett very soon!!!

The early (book)worm gets the book...or something like that.

Fracas: A Collection of Short Friction is already available on Amazon.

After we announced that Fracas would be out on September 1st, several authors posted links to the book on Facebook, bringing to my attention that it is already available. It's not the way I had it planned, but it works. I'm very excited about this book and I hope everyone loves it!

I will admit this book is smaller than I anticipated, for the amount of stories in it, but every story is great.i think the cover is very eye catching (for various reasons,) and even the fact that the book is white, with such dirty stories inside makes it very different, but another thing that stands out is the blank spine.

The printer was unable to print all of the information on the spine, but I think it works. It adds to the literary journal or pulp digest style of the book.

The $8 price tag is nice and these unforgettable stories and captivating cover make it worth every penny!

Don't miss this bad-ass book!!!

Email from the wasteland

Here is another email from David Boyer, and the last thing I plan to ever post about this guy. I'm not even responding to this. Some people are just ridiculous!

You are just as unprofessional as the rest of these assholes, and then some. Mister "visionary" and "an unstoppable force." You are an unstoppable asshole.
No wonder you had to close down the book store; your partner had an idiot for a partner.

I'm exhausted and exasperated with this dramatic garbage.

An email response from David Boyer...

An email response from David Boyer, about the book of stolen stories. This was a mass email to all of the authors in this book.

I have been getting a lot of bullshit over this book being on Amazon, and NONE of you have any reason to be harrassing me, because I have full permissions from you in my email archives to use these stories, and the email attachment versions of the stories as well. I am sick of all of this harassment and defmatory comments and lies being spread about me, and if you don't want your story in there, you should have not sent it to begin with.
But since you are going to be assholes about this, I will gladly contact Amazon to have them take it down.

Want some friendly advice? Next time you call yourselves "professional writers," take a better look in the mirror first, okay?

On line hours: 8 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday

My reponse...

I find your response to be insulting, since I told you in person that I did not want my story in this book. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and you told me the book wasn't coming out and that you were getting out of Scit-Fi/Horror. I had zero reason to think this book would still be released, but upon it's release the thing to do would have been to contact the authors and inform us, or maybe even offer some form of contract, compensation or payment for the use of these stories. Doing this might have seemed less sneaky and I would have let it go.

Without informing the authors or having a contract, these are not your stories to publish. At least I know mine isn't. We talked about this.

I don't want to be a part of any project you are doing. Yout can say there is a conspiracy against you, but I never done anything to you. It is not my concern how your reputation looks, I just don't want to be a part of it, or any book you do. I would like my story out of this book. That is all I"m asking, in the most professional way possible.

Please do not contact me further. I have been advised to not have any contact with you, other than the possible removal of my story.

J. Travis Grundon

Sometimes it's hard to be professional.

This book is now currently listed as temporarily unavailable on Amazon.

Don't buy this book of stolen stories!!!

Please don't buy this book. David Boyer (also known as many other fake names) has printed and published these stories including ones from John F.D. Taff, myself and others, without legal rights or permission. These stories are stolen!

David Boyer has a serious history of stealing other authors work. Google his name and see what I mean. It's awful!

Here is a link that really points it all

What a piece of shit!!!

Furiously yours,
